PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The Daley Center invites all Contractors to bid on the Richard J. Daley Center Pest Control Service Opportunity.
This is a Request for Proposal (RFP) for work related to the pest control services and maintenance at the RJDC. Service provider is invited to submit a proposal to provide contracted duties at the property.

WORK TO BE PERFORMED
Contractor shall give pricing for servicing the property once a week. Contractor shall be responsible for insect, rodent and drain fly maintenance. Pests included for this proposal are pavement ants, Carpenter Ants, Fleas, Gnats, Firebrats, Silverfish, Waterbugs, Norway Rats, Roof Rat, common house mice, German Cockroaches, Oriental Cockroaches, American Cockroaches, and Brown Branded Cockroaches. Contractor shall provide a detailed list of these and any additional pests which it controls under this proposal.
Service areas for insect/ rodent/ drain fly include the following:
Weekly Service:

- Dock, Boiler room and mechanical areas.
- Lower-Level pump rooms, slop sinks, break rooms (3), locker rooms (5), restrooms (10), and storage areas. Including drain fly treatment.
- Concourse Level storage rooms, restrooms (10), and slop sinks.
- Special service tickets (include up to 3 weekly).
- To be completed Monday through Friday before 7:00am, Saturdays between 6 a.m. and 12:00 noon or on a building holiday.
SPECIAL REQUESTS:
Emergency service to be provided after 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday
Service reports will be provided detailing every visit with back-up copy retained by vendor.
A Customer Service Logbook will be utilized for pest sightings, service schedules, and for the maintenance of material data safety information.
All materials used or placed shall be registered by U.S. EPA and used or placed in accordance with product label restrictions, applicable codes, ordinances, laws, intended uses of such product, applicable government regulations, and good pest control practices as specified in “Good Practice Statements” issued by the National Pest Control Association.
Copies of MSDS sheets for each of the materials being used or placed in the building will be provided as requested but not less than once a year. All MSDS sheets will be updated as changes in product takes place.
PROPOSAL
The prices quoted for extermination services for building at Richard J. Daley Center shall be for the duration of the agreement. Quotes are not subject to escalation, additional costs for insurance, taxes, benefits, etc. unless specifically clarified within the Contractor’s proposal. All bidders are encouraged to include at least 30% MBE/WBE participation from a certified City of Chicago MBE/WBE firm.
Projects at the Daley Center are Sales Tax Exempt.
QUALIFICATIONS
The Contractor and Subcontractor’s qualifications submission shall include the following documents:
- Public Building Commission of Chicago Disclosure Affidavit.
- A Complete Review and Approval of the RJDC Professional Service Contract.
- Sample Certificate of Insurance.
- List of comparable projects completed in the last five years.
- List of current projects including dollar values.
IMPLEMENTATION

- This Contractor shall properly assign the work to be performed to the appropriate employees so as to properly execute the work in accordance with applicable codes and local practices.
- All labor performed at the Daley Center MUST be union employees.
- The Contractor shall provide all required materials, equipment, facilities, and supervision necessary to begin the work and to perform the work and all parts thereof promptly, diligently, and in such sequence as the Owner may direct to assure the efficient expeditious and timely completion of the entire project, inclusive of activities that are outside of Contractor’s Scope of Work.
